Donald E. Herrold is a shareholder of the firm and co-founder of one of the firm’s merger predecessors, one of the two firms that recently merged together to establish Sneed Lang Herrold. He is a second generation Oklahoman, a 55-year Tulsa resident, a graduate of Tulsa Central High School class of l958, the husband of one wife of 48 years duration (who were high school sweethearts), the father of three sons: the eldest, who practices law with him; the middle, who is involved in commercial real estate in Houston; and the youngest, a mechanical engineer that designs deep sea valves and manifolds for a major oil company, who are each successes in their own rights. His life experiences include the delight and joys of being the grandfather of eight (8) beautiful grandchildren; teaching about Jesus at Asbury UMC, the family’s church for the past 32 years, serving his country as a naval line officer in naval gunfire support and interdiction of enemy water/landborne logistical support of NVA forces in South Vietnam during two (2) combat cruises to Vietnam from 1966-1968, serving as an Assistant Attorney General of Oklahoma, cattle ranching, compiling a family genealogy book, four family trips to Europe, and gradually learning how to practice law over the last 43 years from associations with great lawyers, partners, associates, colleagues and salty opponents at court houses all over the state. His present interests in the law practice are focused on estate planning, trusts, estates, probate, transactional work in both individual and business applications, business organizations, civil litigation, trials and appeals.
